Sesame Street’s Elmo Brings Peace and Respect to Game of Thrones

There might be a new player in the Game of Thrones, and this one promises to bring peace and respect in all the Seven Kingdoms. He is a red monster and has fur, but do not take him for a hideous creature from beyond the Wall, because he is Elmo of Sesame Street. The ticklish puppet stars in a new mashup between the two HBO programs. Lena Headey’s Cersei Lannister is arguing with her brother, Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion in King’s Landing when Sesame Street‘s Elmo makes his appearance and solves the feud between the Lannister siblings.

“Elmo thinks that you two need to respect each other” the muppet says. “When Elmo has a problem with his friends, like Abby or Cookie Monster, Elmo doesn’t get upset. Elmo listens and learns from what they have to say.”

Elmo’s words seem to convince Tyrion, who offers his sister a truce.

“If we stop fighting and work together, we can be stronger. I’m willing to learn and listen if you are,” the youngest member of the Lannister family says.

“Will Miss Cersei try to listen and understand what Mr. Tyrion is saying?” Elmo asks Cersei eventually. Even the heartless queen of King’s Landing cannot resist the furry resident of Sesame Street, as she capitulates. “I… can try.”

Game of Thrones Season 8 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on HBO. You can check out the full mashup video below. Then, let us know what you think about the appearance of Elmo in King’s Landing in the comments section below.
