“Django Unchained takes the movie’s story and tells it as a comic book,” said Tarantino, “with story aspects that aren’t in the movie. The comic will literally be the entire movie’s script.”
The series will run for five issues and will start in November just before the film’s release. No word yet on who will be adapting the script or who will be writing it, expect more of that as we move along.
One more interesting factoid Tarantino dropped is that the titular Django and his wife Broomhilda Von Shaft are the great, great, great grandparents of John Shaft.
