Kripke, who was formerly attached to adapt DC’s “Sandman”, will develop “Deadman” as an hourlong drama for the CW.
Created in 1967 by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino (though made famous by Jack Miller and Neal Adams), Deadman’s first appearance was in “Strange Adventures” #205. The ghost of a murdered trapeze artist, Brand is able to return from the dead and possess any living body in order bring about justice.
There is currently no specific timetable announced for bringing “Deadman” to series and it won’t be the first attempt to adapt the character. Guillermo del Toro was, some years ago, attached to produce the property as a feature film with Nikolaj Arcel rumored to direct. Further back, in the year 2000, a “Deadman” television series was planned for TNT but failed to result in any significant development.
