Pajiba is reporting a rumor that DC Entertainment is developing a movie based on Gardner Fox and Jack Burnley’s Starman…
In any event, according to an inside source, Warner Brother, in partnership with Lin Productions and DC Comics, is bringing Starman to the big screen. Which version is sort of unknown — he’ll wield a gravity rod, have energy powers, and likely be able to fly. One of the more recent Starman characters could also manipulate mass, but not word on whether that power will be present. It’s being produced by Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes — yay!, Terminator Salvation — hmm…) and Gregory Noveck (Jonah Hex — jury’s still out). No writer or director is attached yet, as the film is in very early development.
The original Starman, Ted Knight, invented a “gravity rod,” later reinvented as a “cosmic rod,” allowing him to fly and manipulate energy.
