Venom: The Last Dance Box Office Continues Worldwide Success in 2nd Weekend

Venom: The Last Dance, directed by Kelly Marcel and starring Tom Hardy, crossed the $300 million mark globally within two weeks of its October 25, 2024, release. While the film’s domestic box office numbers were below projections, it performed strongly in international markets, especially in China. Recent openings in France and Japan have further boosted its international earnings.

Venom: The Last Dance has crossed a significant box office milestone, earning over $300 million globally within its second weekend (via Variety).

As of now, the film has grossed approximately $317.1 million worldwide, including $227 million from international markets and $90 million domestically. This third and final entry in Sony’s Venom trilogy is performing well in key markets. It has notable earnings in China ($70.6 million), Mexico ($13.4 million), and the UK ($11.9 million). Recently, it debuted in France with $6.5 million and in Japan with $3.8 million, further boosting its global earnings.

Alongside Venom’s success, Clint Eastwood’s Juror No. 2 opened with $5 million across six international territories. France led with $3.1 million. Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s The Wild Robot added $15.7 million from 79 markets, bringing its global total to $269 million. The movie performed especially well in Mexico, the UK, and Australia.

With a budget of $120 million, Venom: The Last Dance is positioned for a successful theatrical run, even if its earnings do not match its predecessors, Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). The film’s international retention, marked by only a 44% drop in its second weekend, indicates strong audience interest overseas (via Deadline).

This trilogy conclusion suggests potential expansions in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, particularly with the introduction of Knull. This addition adds a new dimension to the symbiote storyline.
