Madame Web Early Box Office Tracking Predicts Smaller Opening Than Morbius

Sony’s Madame Web is currently tracking to make under $40 million during its opening weekend.

According to Box Office Pro, Madame Web is currently tracking to make between $25 million to $35 million when it opens in the United States on February 14, 2024. It’s currently making to bring in a domestic total somewhere between $56 million to $101 million.

The Jared Leto-led Morbius movie released in 2022, in comparison, made $39 million during its opening weekend. It went on to make $73.9 million in the United States and Canada, with a worldwide total gross of $167.5 million.

The other two movies in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe also performed better than Madame Web’s current tracking numbers. Released in 2018, Venom made $80.3 million during its opening weekend, with its total worldwide gross coming in at $856.1 million ($213.5 million of which came from the United States and Canada).

The Venom sequel, 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage, debuted at $90.1 million on its opening weekend. In total, it made $213.6 million in the United States and Canada, with the worldwide gross coming in at $506.9 million.

What is Madame Web about?

Directed by S. J. Clarkson, Madame Web stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra “Cassie” Webb, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Cornwall, Celeste O’Connor as Mattie Franklin, Isabela Merced as Anya Corazon, and Thara Rahim as Ezekiel Sims.

Madame Web releases in the United States on February 14, 2024.
