Ryan Reynolds Teases Blind Al’s Return in Deadpool 3

Now that Deadpool is officially joining the MCU, Marvel fans are eager to hear which (if any) of Ryan Reynolds’ co-stars are coming along for the ride. The last two Deadpool films memorably featured a colorful cast of supporting superheroes. But before any mutants ink their deals to return, it looks as though we can expect Wade Wilson’s roommate to make an appearance in his upcoming sequel. Blind Al’s.

Over the weekend, Leslie Uggams, who played Blind Al in both the original Deadpool and its 2018 sequel, sent out a tweet congratulating Reynolds on the success of his latest film, Netflix’s The Adam Project. Reynolds subsequently thanked Uggams before adding a message that appeared to confirm her involvement in Deadpool 3. Check out what he had to say below.

By writing “See you soon” and adding several sword emojis (an obvious reference to Deadpool’s weapon of choice), Reynolds all but guaranteed that Uggams will indeed have a role in the Merc With a Mouth’s MCU debut. This might not be the return that most viewers were hoping for as opposed to, say, Josh Brolin’s Cable or Zazie Beetz’s Domino. Regardless, Uggams delivered plenty of hilarious one-liners in the previous films, so she’s a welcome addition to the MCU.

Earlier this month, Shawn Levy signed on to helm Deadpool 3 after directing Reynolds in The Adam Project and last year’s Free Guy. Original Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are also taking their own pass at the script. But Marvel hasn’t announced a release date for the film.
