Andrew Garfield Still Fits in His Original Amazing Spider-Man Suit

Now that Sony has even released an official still of multiple Spideys, and Spider-Man: No Way Home has reached the status of #6 all-time box-office grosser worldwide, it seems safe to say the statue of spoiler limitations is over. So yes, Andrew Garfield is in the movie. And even better than that? According to the actor, on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via Variety), he brought the old costume along. While multiple costumes for action sequences were undoubtedly involved, that original Amazing Spider-Man suit stayed in the mix.

“I still fit, bruh,” says the actor. “I had to work on it with my trainer. I was very nervous about that. I was very nervous. I was like, no one wants to see an old, fat guy in a Spider-Man costume.” (Sounds like somebody missed the Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse!)

Garfield needed to maintain a lean physique, but it seems he also shared one key trait in common with He-Man. Only three others shared his secret — that of being in No Way Home. Variety quotes him from an Ellen appearance, revealing that his father, mother, and brother knew. “You know when you’re planning a surprise birthday party for someone and they’re like, ‘I hate surprises. Tell me, is the party happening? No seriously, don’t mess around because you know I actually hate surprises,'” Garfield said. “It felt like I was part of organizing a surprise birthday party for a bunch of people who would appreciate it.”

The phenomenal success of the movie certainly proves him correct on that score.
