After several COVID delays, we can finally say that The Batman is hitting theaters this year. And with only two months remaining until its release, Warner Bros. continues to share new looks at the Dark Knight’s long-awaited return to the big screen. Last month, the studio rang in the holiday season with a new full-length trailer for the reboot. Although it was dubbed “The Bat and the Cat,” the preview seemed to cover just about every character and plot thread that we know about. But today, WB released a new 30-second spot that puts more emphasis on Batman and Catwoman’s complicated relationship.
What we have here is basically an abridged version of last month’s trailer. The promo leaves out any mention of Paul Dano’s Riddler in favor of shining the spotlight on Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle’s rooftop banter (along with the occasional fistfight). It still looks as though Selina has her own score to settle with the film’s main villain. Regardless, the spot isn’t completely devoid of new footage. Colin Farrell sneaks in an appearance as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, who wisely remarks that Bruce and Selina “are a helluva duet.”
