Legion’s Dan Stevens Hints at His Role in Marvel’s Eternals

Last month, the final trailer for Marvel’s Eternals gave us our first look at what many fans have theorized to be Kro, the leader of the Deviants in Jack Kirby’s original comics. He looks markedly different from Kirby’s classic design. But he appears in a scene with Angelina Jolie’s Thena, a character with whom he’s had an on-and-off relationship over the years, adding even more fuel to the speculation machine. Marvel has yet to reveal which actor is bringing Kro to life on the big screen this fall. However, former Legion star Dan Stevens may have just outed himself as the man behind the mo-cap suit.

Stevens’ Eternals casting was never formally announced, but rumors of his involvement have been circulating for two years. In 2019, Kingo actor Kumail Nanjiani posted an Instagram photo of himself with his wife, Emily V. Gordon, his Eternals co-star, Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), and Stevens. Collider’s Steve Weintraub recently interviewed Stevens about his role in the German sci-fi movie I’m Your Man. And when asked about those long-standing Eternals rumors, Stevens appeared to confirm his return to the superhero genre.

“Kro comment,” was Stevens’ reply.

To be fair, it definitely sounds like Stevens’ voice in the trailer. And his character’s ability to create tendrils out of his body is at least somewhat consistent with Kro’s power of physical malleability from the comics. Regardless, we might have to wait until the film’s credits roll to learn if that’s really him.

Eternals hits theaters on November 5.
