Three More Actors Join Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Cameras have been rolling on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom for three months, but the highly-anticipated sequel has just announced three new additions to its cast. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Jani Zhao, Indya Moore, and Vincent Regan have all booked supporting roles in the upcoming film.

Portuguese actress Zhao has joined the movie as Stingray, which definitely sounds like the name of a superhero (or villain) from DC’s comic book universe. However, THR notes that this is an original character created for the sequel. Zhao’s role in the film will also mark her English-language debut.

Moore, best-known for playing Angel on FX’s Pose, is co-starring as Karshon, a character who has shown up in the DC Universe before. In the comics, Karshon was a Tiger Shark that developed a humanoid appearance and mental powers following a radioactive explosion. Moore just appeared in Escape Room: Tournament of Champions and also had a role in Queen & Slim last year.

Finally, Regan has joined the film as the new King Atlan, replacing Graham MacTavish from the original Aquaman. Regan previously had roles in Troy, 300, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Clash of the Titans. But in recent years, he has been featured in British TV dramas including Poldark and Flesh and Blood.

Additionally, THR has confirmed that Randall Park is reprising his Aquaman role as Dr. Stephen Shin. The last time we saw Shin in the DCEU, he had just rescued Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta after his fight with Arthur Curry in Italy, setting up an alliance between their characters in the sequel.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits theaters on December 16, 2022.
