Jamie Lee Curtis Joins Eli Roth’s Borderlands Film as Dr. Tannis

The Jamie Lee Curtis renaissance is far from over. Following her return to the Halloween franchise and her appearance in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out, Curtis has just landed her next high-profile film role. According to Collider, She is the latest addition to Eli Roth’s adaptation of Borderlands, based on the hit video game series.

Curtis will play Dr. Patricia Tannis, a vital character from all three games in the main Borderlands trilogy. Tannis is a scientist who specializes in archaeology, and she was once recruited by the Dahl corporation to find the Vault, a mythical cache of alien technology hidden somewhere on Pandora. Unfortunately, the planet’s harsh environment took a toll on her mental state. Tannis eventually lends her expertise to the game’s playable characters, who also go in search of the Vault.

Roth also released a new statement confirming Curtis’ casting:

“Working with the iconic Jamie Lee Curtis has been a life long dream of mine,” said Roth. “And I am so excited for her to bring her humor, warmth and brilliance to the role of Tannis.”
