Jared Leto’s living vampire will face off against a host of adversaries when Morbius hits theaters next year. However, the biggest threat to Morbius may be Tyrese Gibson’s Simon Stroud. In Marvel’s comic book universe, Stroud was a FBI agent who frequently tangled with the scientist-turned-creature of the night. But since Sony’s upcoming film is taking liberties with the source material, the character is going to look a bit different this time around.
Gibson’s take on Stroud will wield a cybernetic right arm as he hunts down Michael Morbius. Unfortunately, the film’s recent teaser trailer didn’t reveal any footage of this robotic appendage in action. But while speaking with Maxim, Gibson teased his arm’s power. He also joked about the filmmakers’ decision to change another aspect of Stroud’s appearance.

“My character was originally white, and they made him black,” said Gibson. “But I like to say he was a white guy who got a really good tan. That arm has all kinds of special effects and powers, and that’s going to mess people up when they see this movie. It’s my first time ever officially being a superhero. I’ve done some superhero s**t, but I ain’t never been a superhero. I had to explain this to my daughter.”
Morbius will hit heaters on March 19, 2021.
