Joker continues to be a huge success for Warner Brothers, making another $55 million in its second weekend. That puts its tally to over $192 million in the U.S., and $543 million worldwide. It’s bound to be a box office champ for some time. With this, the studio has already begun preparations for the movie’s home media release. An early glimpse at its 4K Steelbook case has just shown up online.
Best Buy recently put the film up for pre-order on its website for the price of $34.99. The art is below, with images of Joaquin Phoenix’s character on the front, back, and inside.
The front cover boasts the Joker in his trademark suit against a white background. Meanwhile, the back features the instantly-iconic shot of him dancing on the stairs, as seen previously in the film’s trailers. Finally, the inside cover shows him putting on makeup, preparing for an appearance on Murray Franklin’s talk show. The disc art is also in the picture, with solid red and black designs representing the 4K and Blu-ray discs included.

This obviously isn’t the first time that Best Buy has offered an exclusive Steelbook case for a comic book film. In the past, the store has released several Marvel movies in similar packaging, including Avengers: Endgame. They’re a little higher in cost, going for $34.99 compared to $29.99 for the standard version. But to some collectors, they’re worth it.
No release date is currently set for Joker‘s 4K UHD or Blu-ray editions, and this announcement probably won’t be made until closer to the end of the year. It seems likely that the studio is planning to release the film in these formats by no later than the spring of 2020. However, those who enjoyed the movie can go ahead and pre-order now, preserving a pretty cool Steelbook case for their collection.
