This year’s D23 Expo gave Marvel Studios the opportunity to continue teasing their plans for Phase Four of the MCU. Although the new series featuring Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk may have won the weekend, the studio couldn’t leave the stage without sharing a few surprises from their upcoming films, including next year’s Eternals. Most of the cast was on hand to reveal an early look at the characters’ costumes and introduce new additions Gemma Chan and Kit Harington. Now, Kevin Feige has shared another important detail about one of the titular heroes.
Good Morning America managed to catch up with Feige during the chaos of D23. During their interview, he confirmed that one of the characters will indeed be openly gay. You can hear his remarks at the 1:55 mark in the video below.

“He’s married, he’s got a family, and that is just part of who he is,” said Feige.
The rumor that Eternals would feature a gay character first started making the rounds back in March. This caused several fans to speculate that it would be Richard Madden’s Ikaris. However, Feige declined to reveal the gay hero’s identity in this interview. Regardless, news of this character’s marriage is a bit of information we haven’t heard before. It makes us wonder whether his spouse is human and knows about his husband’s immortal heritage.
