With Spider-Man: Far From Home racking up big box office dollars, it’s just a matter of time before a new movie gets underway. But the real question is simple: which Spider-Man villain should be in the next film? If Far From Home‘s director and writers have their way, it could be Kraven the Hunter.
While speaking with Uproxx, director Jon Watts was unambiguous about his choice. But he added that there may be some hurdles to overcome.
“Oh, I would love Kraven,” said Watts. “It’s just the trick of how do you do Kraven in a movie?…But, no, I don’t know who’s next. I always like to think about it in terms of what’s going to be the most difficult thing for Peter. So that’s going to be the next trick.”
Kraven the Hunter was first introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #15 back in August 1964. His nearly superhuman hunting skills made him a constant thorn in Spidey’s die. Even death couldn’t hold Kraven back forever!

Far From Home co-screenwriter Erik Sommers gave a thumbs up to Watts’ choice while talking with ComicBook.com.
“I’ve always had a soft spot for Kraven the Hunter,” explained Sommers.
However, his writing partner, Chris McKenna, suggested a lesser known villain as his choice.
“We read a lot of [Spider-Man’s] comics that were fun. There were some really great storylines with him. Spot seems like a really cool villain.”
Dr. Jonathan Ohnn first appeared in The Spectacular Spider-Man #97 in December 1984. His alter ego, the Spot, debuted the next month in issue #98. Despite his comical appearance, the Spot’s ability to open up space warps with his body make him a formidable foe.
Marvel and Sony haven’t announced their next Spider-Man movie yet. But that may change later this month, as Marvel will head to San Diego Comic-Con with a special Hall H presentation.
