Brightburn Reviews – What Did You Think?!

What if Superman grew up to be a bad guy? That’s the basic premise behind Brightburn; which didn’t exactly set the box office on fire over the weekend. It came in at number 5, with just $9 million through Monday. Does Brightburn deserve to find a wider audience? We want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it! This post is a place for all of you to leave your own reviews, thoughts, or anything else you want to say about the film.

Brightburn has been heavily marketed with James Gunn’s name, largely because of his success with the Guardians of the Galaxy films. However, Gunn was only a producer on this movie. His brother, Brian Gunn; and their cousin, Mark Gunn, co-wrote the script. David Yarovesky was the director of the film.

Jackson A. Dunn had a cameo role earlier this summer in Avengers: Endgame as young Scott Lang. In Brightburn, Dunn portrays Brandon Breyer, a young boy who comes to discover his otherworldly origins. Unlike the Man of Steel, Brandon isn’t shy about using his powers to terrorize the people around him. Elizabeth Banks and David Denman play Brandon’s adoptive parents, s Tori and Kyle Breyer.

Matt Jones, Meredith Hagner, Steve Agee, Becky Wahlstrom, Emmie Hunter, Stephen Blackehart, and Gregory Alan Williams round out the cast. Frequent Gunn family collaborator, Michael Rooker, also has a role in the film.

Brightburn is out in theaters now. Make sure to leave your reviews in the comment section below!
