There’s no question that Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has become the biggest movie in the series to date. And now, one of the series’ most iconic directors provided his two cents on the grand finale.
Joss Whedon may not have had much involvement in Marvel productions as of late. However, he wrote and directed the 2012 blockbuster Marvel’s The Avengers, as well as its 2015 follow-up Age of Ultron. So he obviously knows a thing or two about Earth’s mightiest heroes.
Whedon recently took to Twitter to provide his two cents on Endgame. And though he didn’t have a lot to say, he summed up his words rather nicely, as you can see below.
Endgame. Guys. Jesus. #noYOUcried

Indeed, high praise for the work of Anthony and Joe Russo, as well as the respective Endgame writers and actors. And in return, the fans have come out in droves to respond to Whedon’s tweet.
(Note: there may be mild Endgame spoilers in some of the responses below.)

I kept scrolling your timeline hoping to see a reaction tweet from you. The @Russo_Brothers did a damned fine service to the previous @Avengers films you you made.

Thanks for two solid entries in the Infinity Saga and Agents of Shield.

Whedon certainly did play his part helping the franchise get to this point. And as one fan said, we can’t leave out Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will make its return this summer.
And it’s also nice to see fans still give the 2012 Avengers film acknowledgment. Its box office at the time wasn’t too shabby, as it made over $200 million domestic in its opening weekend. (It ended up making $1.5 billion worldwide.)
