It makes sense that McFarlane Toys would make a figure of this popular new villainess, but of course they’ve packed her in with another Joker, who’s mostly made of reused parts. Punchline would be delighted with the team-up; collectors who like to open their figures may be frustrated at having to buy another Joker in order to get the new lady in his life. Collectors who like to display may appreciate the pairing.
Also known as Alexis Kaye, Punchline met the Joker over the Internet while still a college student, and he taught her how to make his venom. She used it to kill homeless people for fun and the dean of the college when he threatened to discipline her for dressing as the Joker. The demented clown thought Punchline was the funniest person he’d ever met and recruited her to assist in his war with Batman. Not that she stayed attached to him; she’d later have her own adventures as leader of the Royal Flush Gang.
If the figure looks as good as the prototype above, it should be a quick seller; that face looks digitally painted, and she’s reminiscent of the days when McFarlane Toys made the best female figures in the business. Preorders begin April 23rd at all your favorite online toy retailers. Then once she’s in hand, you can decide whether to display her with the Joker, with Harley, or somewhere else entirely. The only thing for sure is you’ll definitely want to display her.
