This week has already given us a trailer and a release date for Batman: The Audio Adventures, a new scripted podcast series coming to HBO Max. But it looks like even non-Max subscribers will be able to get in on some of Dark Knight’s adventures this weekend. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max is releasing the podcast’s first two episodes for free on Sunday, September 19.
Jeffrey Wright leads the series’ voice cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The story comes from Saturday Night Live alum Dennis McNicholas and puts a humorous spin on the DC mythos. Years into his career as Gotham’s protector, Batman decides to become an official member of the GCPD. Unfortunately, this latest move puts him at odds with his longtime frenemy, Catwoman. Fans can also expect appearances by several other Batman rogues over the course of 10 episodes.

Other performers include Rosario Dawson as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, John Leguizamo as the Riddler, and Brent Spiner as the Joker. McNicholas also recruited several SNL all-stars to fill out the supporting cast. Joining the fray are Jason Sudeikis (Mayor Hamilton Hill), Seth Meyers (Jack Ryder), Bobby Moynihan (Penguin) and Fred Armisen (King Scimitar). The series also features a few current SNL players like Kenan Thompson (Commissioner Gordon), Heidi Gardner (Harley Quinn/Miss Tuesday), and Melissa Villaseñor (Robin). Brooke Shields and Alan Tudyk are also onboard as Vicki Vale and Alfred, respectively.
Batman: The Audio Adventures premieres on HBO Max tomorrow, September 18.
