Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat Gets an Ultimate Action Figure

Director Michael Dougherty has had his hands full lately with the kaiju of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. But the original little monster that put him on the map isn’t going away quietly! Trick ‘r Treat‘s Sam, the pumpkin-headed, sack-cloth wearing, wall-climbing enforcer of Halloween law, heads back to toy shelves this fall. And unlike last time, he’s loaded with tricks and treats.

Naturally, he has his signature sack, secret knife, and stabbingly jagged half-eaten lollipop. But there’s more. He also comes with four different heads, two masked and two…not. And to demonstrate proper lighting of the Jack o’ lantern, he has two of those, one of which actually illuminates.

That, and bonus hands allow him to hold different items…or just display with a severed hand.

With multiple points of articulation, this Sam can assume all the poses you need. He’s such an adorable bogeyman, we don’t know whether to hug him or run screaming. Upon rewatch of the movie, it’ll probably be the latter, however.

Sam would probably have his hands full with Godzilla, who’d simply inhale him without noticing. But aside from Dougherty, the two have a lot in common. Both exist to restore the natural order of things when regular humans transgress. Both are instantly recognizable, and borderline unkillable. And you’ll want to get well out of the way if you see either one coming.
