TVA #1 Preview Brings MCU’s Time Cops Into Comics

You’ve seen them in Loki and Deadpool & Wolverine. Their influence has shaped the MCU. Now, the TVA is making their way into the comics, with Mobius, OB, B-15, and other dimension-hopping heroes working to make the Multiverse of Madness a little more sane.

Written by Katharyn Blair, with art by Pere Perez, the first issue introduces the Time Variance Authority through the eyes of Spider-Gwen. The Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 recently relocated to Earth-616 and was chosen to be a TVA spokesperson. Unfortunately, Gwen wasn’t entirely honest about why she wanted the job. This leaves her hoping nobody finds out she isn’t really a refugee from a dead Earth. Unfortunately, figuring out this sort of thing is just what the TVA does.

While the opening scene draws heavily upon the Spider-Gwen Ghost-Spider series, the cover of TVA #1 hints at some of the other characters who might show up. Apart from the cast of Loki, including Sophie, there is also a variant Gambit and Captain Carter. It remains to be seen, however, if the Loki variant who saved the multiverse might make an appearance as well. Time, as they say, will tell. It always does, even when time-travelers are involved.

TVA #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on December 18, 2024.
