Exclusive Extended Preview – The Wrong Earth: Purple #1

Ahoy Comics’ The Wrong Earth has a certain consistency to its multiverse. There’s a billionaire named Richard Fame on almost every Earth, and on every Earth, Richard is also the costumed vigilante known as Dragonfly. Within the core storyline, the Dragonfly from a grim and gritty universe found himself trapped in a campy ’60s world. Meanwhile, Dragonfly’s counterpart, Dragonfly Man, found himself on his double’s grim and gritty Earth, but he resolved to change the world for the better.

To further expand the multiverse of The Wrong Earth, Ahoy Comics is releasing six new one-shots. Today, Superhero Hype has the exclusive extended preview for The Wrong Earth: Purple #1. Stewart Moore is writing the one-shot, which is illustrated by Fred Harper. Moore also offered SHH his explanation for the one-shot’s premise.

“The Wrong Earth is our tribute to the pinstriped, funk-infused 1980s…a time when ‘grim and gritty’ was a headline, not a cliché,” said Moore. “Fred Harper’s art and color bring this world to dark, glorious life, featuring our very own, Wall Street tycoon version of the Wrong Earth’s Dragon-Fly hero. And Fred and I enjoyed drinking together, I mean WORKING together, so much that we’re cooking up a very different, 100% Dragonfly-free project for AHOY. That’ll be announced very soon.”
