Frank Miller is Launching a New Comic Book Publishing Company

In over four decades in the comic book industry, writer and artist Frank Miller has never tried running his own publishing company. But that’s about to change with the launch of Frank Miller Presents. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Miller is embarking on a new publishing venture that will eventually release new chapters of Miller’s Sin City and Ronin comics.

According to the announcement, Miller and his collaborators have been “quietly” working on the company “for months, if not years.” Joining Miller is former DC co-publisher Dan DiDio, who will now serve as publisher at FMP. Additionally, Frank Miller Ink CEO Silenn Thomas will be the company’s chief operating officer. Miller himself will act as president and editor-in-chief.

“Investing in artists and the future of comics has always been my one true passion and creative calling,” said Miller in a new statement. “Dan, Silenn, and I couldn’t be more proud to be launching Frank Miller Presents, which will serve as fertile ground for storytellers and new creations. Our focus for this publishing company is to cultivate a fellowship of artists and writers to mentor, collaborate and push forward not only each other but the art form as well.”

FMP is currently planning to release two to four new titles each year. That includes Miller’s first offerings, Sin City 1858 (a Western prequel to Miller’s earlier books) and Ronin Book Two. Additionally, the company has announced two other new series, Pandora and Ancient Enemies. But is still isn’t clear who the creative teams will be.

“Frank has an incredible vision for this publishing company, which further expands on his commitment to storytelling and characters that connect people around the world,” added Thomas.

Frank Miller Presents is expected to launch later this year in both physical and digital markets.
