Exclusive Preview: Black Widow #9

Natasha Romanoff had a family, but it was all lie created and stripped away by her greatest enemies. However, the Black Widow managed to hide her loved ones away. Now, she’s  formed a new surrogate family with Yelena Belova. Natasha’s former rival has become her closest friend. Regardless, the two Widows don’t see eye-to-eye about their new protegee, Lucy. Yelena wants to train Lucy in a semi-Red Room style, but Natasha wants none of that.

Unfortunately, a new villain, Apogee, is already making life difficult for the Widows. He’s even gotten the drop on Yelena, and now her life hangs in the balance.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Black Widow #9, Kelly Thompson and artists Elena Casagrande & Rafael de Latorre catch up with Natasha as she desperately tries to save Yelena. However, it’s really hard to give someone CPR when everyone else around her is out for blood.

“The Black Widow and her team learn the source of the Olio’s powers — and the bleak fate of those in thrall to Apogee, including Natasha’s protégée, Lucy, whose time is running out. Natasha and Apogee go head-to-head for the future of San Francisco, but Natasha will risk everything to protect her city and the new life she’s built there.“
