Artist and writer Mike Mignola may be best known for creating the World’s Greatest Paranormal Investigator, but his creations go far beyond Hellboy. For the last two decades, the Hellboy Saga has evolved into a Mignolaverse, with the B.P.R.D. supporting characters taking their own spotlight. Mignola has also explored the history of the Hellboy timeline in his Witchfinder comics, among others. Additionally, Mignola’s Outerverse comics, including Baltimore and Lady Baltimore, explore a different world entirely, which is separate from Hellboy’s continuity.
Later this year and early next year, Dark Horse Comics is releasing four new collected editions from Mignola’s library of titles. And Superhero Hype is exclusively debuting the covers for Young Hellboy: The Hidden Land, Hellboy Universe Essentials: B.P.R.D., Witchfinder Omnibus Volume 2, and Lady Baltimore: The Witch Queens.
Young Hellboy: The Hidden Land is coming to stores in September, with a cover by Matt Smith. Mignola illustrated cover for the Hellboy Universe Essentials: B.P.R.D., which is coming in November. Witchfinder Omnibus Volume 2 is also hitting stores in November, with a cover by Ben Stenbeck and colors by Dave Stewart. Finally, the lone Outerverse title, Lady Baltimore: The Witch Queens, is coming in January 2021. Abigail Larson illustrated the cover for that edition.
