Exclusive Preview: Dragonfly & Dragonflyman #3

Imagine if you will, two superhero worlds: the Silver Age styled Earth-Alpha, and the grim/dark Earth-Omega. Each world has its own version of Dragonfly and Stinger. On Earth-Alpha, Dragonflyman and his old chum are practically caped crusaders. However, Earth-Omega’s Dragonfly and Stinger have a much more tense relationship. Additionally, they’re at each others’ throats!

Ahoy Comics introduced the dual worlds in last year’s The Wrong Earth; which trapped Dragonflyman on Earth-Omega and sent Dragonfly to the more innocent Earth-Alpha. Both worlds changed their respective lost heroes, and not necessarily for the better! Now, Ahoy is revisiting the duo in Dragonfly & Dragonflyman, a new five-issue miniseries set before The Wrong Earth.

Within this series, Devil Man briefly brought out Dragonflyman’s dark side and set him against his sidekick, Stinger. That also left Dragonflyman so traumatized that he can’t even throw a punch. Meanwhile on Earth-Omega, a similar incident also ruptured the partnership between Dragonfly and Stinger. Additionally, Stinger took that fight a lot more personally than his counterpart on Earth-Alpha.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Dragonfly & Dragonflyman #3, Tom Peyer and artist Peter Krause check in on Earth-Alpha. Unfortunately, Dragonflyman’s mental block still keeps him from performing any act of violence. However, the key to Dragonflyman’s cure may lie with his long lost partner, Lady Dragonflyman!

Here’s the official description from Ahoy Comics.

“On gritty Earth-Omega, Dragonfly locates his runaway partner, Stinger. Is what he does next a rescue–or an abduction? On sunlit Earth-Alpha, Dragonflyman’s mental block against fighting might find its solution in the mysterious LADY DRAGONFLYMAN! Plus the usual AHOY short prose stories and illustrations.”
