According to Sunday weekend estimates, Casino Royale, the debut of Daniel Craig as James Bond, agent 007, has grossed $40.6 million in its initial weekend. It was #1 on Friday with an estimated $14.5 million but it fell short of defeating Warner Bros. animated family feature Happy Feet for the #1 spot, at least according to the estimates.
Check back on Monday afternoon for the actual box office to see if Bond was able to pull in enough additional business on Sunday to take back the top spot for the weekend.
