Two interesting updates from both Toronto and Vancouver today. First up, ComingSoon.net says that A History of Violence, the New Line graphic novel adaptation starring Viggo Mortensen (“The Lord of the Rings”), Maria Bello, Ed Harris, and William Hurt, will film in Toronto under the direction of David Cronenberg from September 7 to November 17.
Adapted by Josh Olson, “History” tells the story of an ordinary family’s life after the father (Mortensen) receives unwanted national attention for a seemingly vigilante-style self-defense killing at his diner.
Meanwhile, Hollywood North Report has a possible update on the Preacher adaptation. The site says the movie may shoot in Vancouver this Fall with one additional week being done in either Saskatchewan or Texas. No word if James Marsden is still attached to play the title role.
