‘Stax’ from IGN Filmforce alerted us they have a new update on the Shazam! adaptation.
According to reliable sources, the writing team of Joel Cohen & Alec Sokolow are the men for the job. They’re the duo behind Toy Story, Money Talks, Goodbye Lover and the forthcoming Cheaper by the Dozen and Garfield.
The possible hiring of Cohen & Sokolow suggests that New Line wants a lighthearted Shazam! movie, which isn’t necessarily inappropriate considering that Captain Marvel is hardly The Dark Knight. The question, though, is whether the film will be tongue-in-cheek or flat-out campy.
