With the spotlight turning to Prime Video’s next major superhero series, Spider-Noir has revealed new posters and locked in the teaser trailer’s release date. Featuring Nicolas Cage in the lead role, the show teases a gritty, stylized take on the Spider-Man legacy set against a noir backdrop.
Spider-Noir posters reveal when first trailer is coming
Sony released two new posters for Spider-Noir and confirmed that the teaser trailer will debut tomorrow. Sony announced the news via X, stating, “Let’s start from the beginning. The ‘Spider-Noir’ teaser trailer arrives tomorrow.” The teaser image shows a mysterious figure in a coat and hat walking down a neon-lit street, with text revealing, “Nicolas Cage is ‘Spider-Noir.’”
The posters are available in both color and black and white, reflecting the dual-format presentation of the series. Nicolas Cage confirmed he has already watched all eight episodes and explained the decision for both formats in an interview with Esquire, saying, “I understand why they presented it in both, and I suggested it in the beginning. I remember when Amazon was first thinking about doing it, they were nervous about black and white. And I said, ‘You don’t have to only do it in black and white. You could do it in color as well because this is for all ages.’”
Cage added, “But the black and white is what I was drawn to. It matches my concept of how to portray a film noir.” He continued, “The color is super saturated and gorgeous. I think teenage viewers will appreciate the color, but I also want them to have the option.”
The series stars Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, an ageing private investigator and former superhero in 1930s New York. The supporting cast includes Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston.
Harry Bradbeer directed and executive produced the first two episodes. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot are co-showrunners and executive producers, working with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, Aditya Sood, and Dan Shear. Spider-Noir will premiere this year on MGM+ in the U.S. and globally on Prime Video.
