The film scored the biggest overseas horror debut, surpassing It Chapter 2, and ranked as the second-largest global horror opening. Directed by Michael Chaves, it posted the Conjuring Universe’s strongest start across Germany, Italy, and 39 other markets.

Led by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, it posted the top horror debut ever in 17 markets such as Spain, Brazil, Colombia, and Poland. In India, it marked Warner Bros.’ biggest opening weekend. On IMAX screens, The Conjuring: Last Rites grossed $14.3 million worldwide, including $4.9 million from international markets. It marked the franchise’s biggest opening and the second-highest horror debut after Alien: Romulus. (via Deadline)

In Europe, The Conjuring: Last Rites delivered the franchise’s strongest start, ranking as the region’s third-biggest horror debut. Latin America set a new record as the top horror opener and the third-largest Warner Bros. launch, after Barbie and Batman v Superman. In Asia, it marked the series’ best showing, taking 83% market share in Indonesia and 91% in the Philippines.

Top international debuts included Mexico ($13.3M), the U.K. ($8.8M), and Brazil ($7.7M).

The film’s $83M domestic launch outperformed Marvel’s Thunderbolts*, which opened lower at $74.3M domestically. Warner Bros. leads the 2025 box office with over $3.7B worldwide, supported heavily by Last Rites, which marked a milestone for the horror genre.
