The second season of Amazon Prime Video’s Gen V won’t recast the late Chance Perdomo’s role.
Shared on the official X account for Gen V, the producers of The Boys spin-off series issued a statement announcing Perdomo’s role won’t be recast in the second season.
What did the Gen V producers say about Perdomo’s role?
“As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory,” the statement reads. “We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Perdomo played Andre Anderson in the first season of Gen V, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in September 2023. The actor tragically died in a motorcycle crash at age 27 in March 2024.
“His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask you to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother,” Perdomo’s family said in a statement at the time.
The first season of Gen V, which is set concurrently with the fourth season of The Boys, also starred Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Samuel Riordan, Shelley Conn as Indira Shetty, Patrick Schwarzenegger as Luke Riordan/Golden Boy, Clancy Brown as Richard Brinkerhoff, and Derek Wilson as Tek-Knight.
Gen V Season 2 does not have a release date at this time. The Boys Season 4 premieres on Prime Video on June 13, 2024.
