Marvel’s Spider-Man Animated Series Heads to YouTube for Free

The Disney XD animated series Marvel’s Spider-Man is swinging onto YouTube for free.

On its official website, Marvel Entertainment announced that full-length episodes of Marvel’s Spider-Man would be making their way to the Marvel HQ YouTube channel. The roll-out began on Saturday, February 10 — with new episodes set to arrive on the channel daily through Sunday, February 18. Additional episodes will then hit the platform in sequence every “Spider-Saturday” thereafter.

Marvel’s Spider-Man coming to Marvel HQ is part of the “Marvel’s Super Heroes Assemble” program — which boasts “action-packed animated series, motion comics, short form content, activations, and unique product collaborations.” On that note, Spidey’s Disney XD series certainly isn’t the last existing show Marvel HQ will share for free during the yearlong celebration. Episodes of the fan-favorite Avengers Assemble will start rolling out on the YouTube channel next month.

Marvel’s Spider-Man concluded in 2020

Developed for television by Kevin Shinick, Marvel’s Spider-Man premiered on Disney XD in August 2017 (following a series of six introductory shorts that began airing two months earlier). The series ran for 52 episodes across two seasons through December 2019. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Maximum Venom — a shortened third season consisting of six double-length episodes — subsequently aired throughout 2020 to bring the series to a close.

The animated series starred Robbie Daymond as the voice of Peter Parker. The main cast also included Nadji Jeter as Miles Morales, Laura Bailey as Gwen Stacy, Melanie Minichino as Anya Corazon, Max Mittelman as Harry Osborn, Scott Menville as Doctor Octopus, and Fred Tatasciore as Max Modell.

Per Marvel, “The fan-favorite animated series follows Peter Parker as he learns that being Spider-Man isn’t all web swinging and saving the day — there is a lot of responsibility, too! As Spider-Man, Peter takes on super villains such as Vulture, Lizard, Doctor Octopus, and Sandman whilst trying to keep his best friend Harry Osborn out of trouble.”

The series is currently streaming on Disney+ in its entirety.
