Garth Ennis Announces Kickstarter for Deluxe Edition of Marjorie Finnegan, Temporal Criminal

AWA Studios found success with their first Kickstarter for a Deluxe Edition of Fight Girls. That crowdfunding effort met its goal in nine hours, going on to raise over $150,000. Now, the publisher is hoping to strike gold again with Garth Ennis‘ “director’s cut” of Marjorie Finnegan, Temporal Criminal.

Originally released in 2022, Marjorie Finnegan, Temporal Criminal profiled the misadventures of the titular time-traveling thief. With her trusty sidekick, Tim, there’s little she can’t steal given enough time. Unfortunately, her past, her ex, and the Temporal PD are catching up with her.

The original 8-issue Marjorie Finnegan, Temporal Criminal comic reunited Garth Ennis with AWA Co-Founder and CCO Axel Alonso, who edited the series. Alonso previously edited Ennis’ work on Preacher for Vertigo Comics and his Punisher run at Marvel Comics. The book also boasted impressive artwork by Y: The Last Man artist Goran Sudžuka.

“Goran and I had such a blast with Marj and the gang; the character became an instant favorite of mine,” noted Ennis. “There are many, many more Marj stories left to tell, and we’re looking forward to working with AWA to bring readers another slice of this particularly insane pie.”

Beyond collecting the original Marjorie Finnegan, Temporal Criminal series, the Kickstarter Deluxe Edition will offer several bonus features. Chief among these is a new wrap-around cover with art by Amanda Conner. There will also be a new 20-page story, that will only be available as part of this special collection. AWA will also offer ample incentives as part of the Kickstarter drive, including being drawn into a future Garth Ennis comic.

“Marjorie is such an incredible character and the initial book is one of AWA’s top sellers,” noted Axel Alonso. “Now we want to give Garth’s fans the chance to delve even deeper and there is no better way to do that than by building a Kickstarter campaign around a new story and an array of new, unseen material.”

A start date for the Marjorie Finnegan, Temporal Criminal Kickstarter has yet to be announced. It will, however, launch sometime in Spring 2024. Interested parties should sign up here to be notified when new information is available.
