G.I. Joe Transformers Line Continues With AWE Striker Bumblebee

Bumblebee has come a long way from being a humble VW bug. First Michael Bay made him a World War II armored car in The Last Knight, and now the G.I. Joe Transformers crossover line brings us AWE Striker Bumblebee. (Points to any old-school G.I. Joe fans who remember what A.W.E. is an acronym for.) The second in a series of actual 3-3/4 inch figure-scaled Joe vehicles that transform, Bumblebee definitely will not be the last. Because come on — there’s no way they won’t do Optimus. Bumblebee comes with a classic-styled O-ring Stalker figure, who can drive him in vehicle mode and stand on his back in robot mode.

But there’s more G.I. Joe news! It seems Hasbro will have a San Diego Comic-Con presence this year, and one of their exclusives will be a Sgt. Slaughter figure that comes with a tiny Sgt. Slaughter action figure as his accessory. Also, figure waves from here on out will all feature five characters, though the first such one appears repaint heavy. Slaughter’s Marauders Barbecue, Crimson BAT, and classic Outback join new figures Cover Girl and Lt. Falcon. Later down the line we can expect Copperhead and Torpedo.

The AWE Striker Bumblebee goes on sale at 1 p.m. today at all your favorite online retailers. The others arrive at later dates. Take a look through the gallery below for early images
