It’s “Just a Perfect Day” In HBO’s First Teaser For Westworld Season 4
Westworld season 3 left the theme park behind and entered the “real” world. It also revealed that humanity was largely under the heel of a complicated program called Rehoboam, not entirely unlike the robotic hosts from Westworld. People only had the illusion of free will and choice. Everything else had been taken from them. Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) never had much love for humans, but she seemingly sacrificed herself to end Rehoboam and bring down Incite, the company that made it. However, Dolores has cheated death before, and she apparently has again in the new teaser for Westworld season 4.
The video is set to a haunting cover of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day.” And surprise, surprise, there’s Dolores, as if nothing happened to her. However, she’s not alone. Other familiar faces show up, including Maeve (Thandiwe Newton), Bernard (Jeffrey Wright), Charlotte (Tessa Thompson), Ashley Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth), and Caleb (Aaron Paul). And it almost seems like the characters have found everything they’ve been looking for.

Then the Man in Black (Ed Harris) returns. Dolores’ old nemesis, William, was apparently killed by his host doppelganger in the season 3 finale. But if William is now simply a host, then he will likely be even deadlier than before. Appropriately enough, the “Perfect Day” cover then takes on some darker implications. “You’re going to reap just what you sow.” In other words, the pain and suffering that Dolores has handed out will come back to bite her. Even Maeve doesn’t appear to be immune from retribution, and it looks like her android daughter is unleashing a plague of insects.
Westworld season 4 will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, June 26. And the fourth season will consist of eight episodes, which will be released weekly.
