The Witcher Season 3 Adds Robbie Amell, Meng’er Zhang, and Two More

Geralt of Rivia is going to encounter several new faces when his journey continues on Netflix next year. The streaming service has announced that Robbie Amell, Meng’er Zhang, Hugh Skinner, and Christelle Elwin have all booked roles in The Witcher season 3.

Amell (Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City) has joined the series as Gallatin, a new character who never appeared in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels. Gallatin leads his own army of guerrilla Scoia’tael that fights on behalf of Nilfgaard. Although Gallatin remains loyal to his people, he will eventually get caught up in a power struggle with Mecia Simson’s Francesca.

Zhang (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) will also star in season 3 as Milva, a “fierce and talented huntress” who was raised by the dryads of Brokilon Forest. She is deadly with a bow and arrow and possesses a “a stone-cold aptitude for survival.”

Skinner (Fleabag) is playing Prince Radovid, the younger brother of Ed Birch’s King Vizimir. Unlike his elder sibling, Radovid is a “playboy” who gets by on his good looks and “often drunken” charm. But when he finds himself on the inside of Redanian Intelligence, he stuns those around him with his political insight.

Finally, Elwin (Bloods) will portray Mistle, a member of the misfit gang of teenagers known The Rats, who steal from the rich and keep the spoils for themselves. Although they occasionally pass the rewards along to the poor as well. Mistle is “street hard” and doesn’t trust anyone as she embarks on her own quest for revenge. But after a “chance meeting,” everything changes.

After its second season dropped back in December, production on The Witcher season 3 began earlier this year. The new episodes will find Geralt keeping Ciri of Cintra safe, while Yennefer handles Ciri’s magical training. Netflix hasn’t announced a release date for the upcoming season, but a 2023 premiere seems likely.
