Empire Debuts Two New Doctor Strange 2 Covers

Stephen Strange’s kaleidoscopic foray into the multiverse is less than two months away. And while Marvel has dropped no shortage of teasers for his upcoming adventure, Empire is upping the ante with its milestone 400th issue. The magazine has just unveiled two separate covers for its May 2022 edition, which also promises to reveal new secrets about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessDoctor Strange 2 covers

The issue’s main cover is simple enough, with Strange using his mystical abilities against an otherworldly backdrop. But the subscriber-exclusive cover is far more interesting. Featuring art by Chris Malbon, the cover features virtually all the sequel’s main and supporting characters. Strange stands proudly in the middle, with Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch meditating right below him.

Both are surrounded on all sides by portals to other dimensions. Unfortunately, Patrick Stewart doesn’t make an appearance as Professor Charles Xavier. But some of the portals feature allies like Wong (Benedict Wong), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), and Defender Strange popping out, while others show villains like Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo. We also see familiar creatures like Rintrah, Gargantos, and even a Tyrannosaurus rex.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will open in theaters on May 6.
