Nick Stahl Boards Showtime’s Let the Right One In

Showtime’s adaptation of Let the Right One In has found another new cast member. According to Deadline, Nick Stahl will appear as a series regular on the upcoming show.

Similar to previous adaptations, the series will follow a young vampire girl named Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez), whose father, Mark (Demián Bichir), does his best to satisfy her bloodlust. However, Showtime’s version is making a few changes to John Ajvide Lindqvist’s original novel. In this incarnation, Eleanor has only been a vampire for 10 years, meaning Mark isn’t just posing as her dad.

Stahl is still widely remembered for playing John Connor in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. He also starred as Roark Junior/Yellow Bastard in Sin City in 2005. More recently, Stahl has booked recurring roles on Fear the Walking Dead and TNT’s Animal Kingdom. On Let the Right One In, Stahl will play a character named Matthew, an ex-soldier who now works as a “fiercely loyal fixer for the Logan family.” Although he appears “clean-cut” and “mild-mannered” on the surface, Matthew is actually hiding “savagery” underneath.

Andrew Hinderaker developed Let the Right One In and also serves as the project’s showrunner. Showtime officially ordered a 10-episode first season back in September, with Seith Mann directing the pilot and several other episodes. The supporting cast also includes Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman, and Jacob Buster.

Showtime hasn’t set a premiere date for Let the Right One In. However, filming is expected to commence in New York soon.
