One question changes everything in Marvel’s What If…?, and it could have some major implications in the MCU. The first episode of the series has hit Disney+, and we want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it! This week, the question was “what if Captain Carter was the first Avenger?” In this world, Steve Rogers was shot before he could take the super soldier serum. To prevent the experiment from being a failure, Peggy Carter took it instead.

Regardless, Steve still managed to play a part in the war as the pilot of the “Hydra Stomper.” Essentially, he was Iron Man before Iron Man.
In some ways, Captain Carter was even more effective than Captain America. Bucky Barnes never became the Winter Soldier, and she was initially able to recover the Tesseract. However, Peggy’s fortune didn’t last forever. Much like her counterpart, Peggy had to sacrifice her own desires in exchange for a chance to save the world and her friends. But Peggy’s story isn’t necessarily over just yet.
