The Boys Debuts Starlight’s Music Video Tribute To Translucent

Amazon Prime’s The Boys is still filming its third season. However, Amazon’s in-universe social media for Vought International is already gearing up for the new season. Following last week’s unveiling of “The Seven Tower” burger, Starlight’s music video tribute to Translucent has been released online.

Way back in the second episode of the series, Hughie (Jack Quaid) killed Translucent (Alex Hassell) with some strategically placed C4. Regardless, the Seven and Vought didn’t publicly acknowledge Translucent’s death until the second season premiere. That was the episode where Starlight (Erin Moriarty) sang “Never Truly Vanish” at Translucent’s funeral. At the time, viewers weren’t aware that there was a full music video to go with that. And it’s also crazier than we could have guessed, with invisible backup dancers and more.

Of course, Translucent wasn’t actually worthy of the adulation that the video and song give him. Aside from Starlight herself, and occasionally Queen Maeve, they’re all self-absorbed jerks who aren’t heroic at all. But Vought is still shaping the Seven’s public perception, even after the events of The Boys season 2.

The Boys season 3 will likely premiere later this year or in early 2022.
