Thor: Love And Thunder Won’t Be Chris Hemsworth’s Last Marvel Movie

After Avengers: Endgame, Chris Hemsworth is the last original leading actor still standing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans may be gone, but Hemsworth isn’t in a hurry to follow them about the door. Via ComingSoon, Hemsworth recently spoke with Elle Man about his upcoming projects. When asked if Thor: Love and Thunder would be his final MCU appearance as Thor, Hemsworth was incredulous at the idea.

“Are you crazy?! I’m not going into any retirement period (laughs),” said Hemsworth. “Thor is way too young for that. I’m only 1500 years old! It is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so.”

For Love and Thunder, Hemsworth is reuniting with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. During the Elle Man interview, Hemsworth shared his feelings about Waititi’s newest script.

“After reading the script, I can say that I am very excited,” exclaimed Hemsworth. “For sure there will be a lot of love and a lot of lightning in this production (laughs). I’m glad that after all that happened in Avengers: Endgame, I’m still part of the Marvel Universe and we can continue the story of Thor. Of course, I can’t tell you anything about the plot, but to satisfy your curiosity, I’ll say that I had a lot more fun reading the script than on Thor Ragnarok, and that proves something, because this movie was brilliant.”

Hemsworth’s co-star, Natalie Portman, recently revealed that Thor: Love and Thunder will film early next year. The film will hit theaters on February 11, 2022.
