Netflix Announces Lucifer Season 5 Date With ‘Sexiest Moments’ Video

The fifth season of Lucifer has finally gotten an official debut date. Netflix released a mildly risque video to announce that the new adventures of the Prince of Hell are coming August 21. Netflix is debuting the first part of Season 5 in August, as the streaming network opted to split the season into two parts. The announcement also implies that production on Lucifer Season 5 will reprise soon after the streaming network halted it due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The end of season 4 saw the reluctant return to Hell of Tom Ellis’ Lucifer, right after Lauren German’s Detective Chloe Decker confessed her love for him. The new season of Lucifer will see the debut of God, portrayed by Dennis Haysbert. The relationship between the Almighty and his son Lucifer has always been tense.

In the meantime, Ellis, Warner Bros., and Netflix are negotiating the renewal of a potential sixth season of the show. So far, the negotiations have been complicated, but it seems that the actor and producers finalized a deal. The show still has a lot of fans; the same fans who helped to save the show with the #SaveLucifer campaign on social media after Fox canceled it back in 2018. Netflix picked up the show and debuted the fourth season in 2019.
