The latest live-action retelling of Stephen King’s acclaimed post-apocalyptic tome has just recruited a talented young actor to join its already star-studded cast. Deadline brings word that Nat Wolff will co-star in CBS All Access’ upcoming adaptation of The Stand. Wolff will play Lloyd Henreid in the new miniseries.
Wolff got his start on Nickelodeon, where he spent three seasons acting opposite his brother Alex Wolff on The Naked Brothers Band. Since then, he’s moved on to more mature roles. His breakthrough came in 2015 when he starred in Paper Towns, based on John Green’s book of the same name. More recently, he headlined Netflix’s adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s Death Note manga series in 2017.

In King’s classic story, Lloyd Henreid was a petty criminal with below-average intelligence. He was originally played by RoboCop’s Miguel Ferrer in ABC’s 1994 adaptation of the novel. Wolff is going to be playing a much younger version of the character. Lloyd eventually became the right-hand man of the book’s main antagonist, Randall Flagg. Alexander Skarsgard will portray Flagg in the new series. He and Wolff recently worked together in The Kill Team, which hits theaters later this month.
The Stand will run for 10 episodes and comes from writers Josh Boone and Ben Cavell. The cast includes James Marsden, Amber Heard, Whoopi Goldberg, and more. Filming is currently underway in Vancouver. The series will hit CBS All Access sometime in 2020.
