Game of Thrones, Westworld, and His Dark Materials Hit Comic-Con

HBO doesn’t hold back when it comes to its San Diego Comic-Con International plans. The network recently announced three panels for the event, with its biggest shows in tow. And while Watchmen doesn’t have a panel, HBO does have something special planned for it.

First up is His Dark Materials on Thursday, July 18, at 4:45 PM in Hall H. It will feature James McAvoy (Lord Asriel), Dafne Keen (Lyra), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Lee Scoresby), Jane Tranter (executive producer) and Ruth Wilson (Mrs. Coulter). Those that attend the panel will likely get a sneak peek at the series; which is set to premiere sometime this year. An autograph session will also take place beforehand at 2:45, through a special lottery.

Game of Thrones lives on one more time at Comic-Con. A panel will take place on Friday, July 19, at 5:30 PM in Hall H, with a number of cast members in attendance. Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei of Naath), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont), Conleth Hill (Varys), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) will all be there. Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff will also be on hand, along with executive producer Miguel Sapochnik.

There’s  word yet on if anything will be screened, but considering it’s a “send-off” panel, fans could be in for something special. A special autograph signing will take place beforehand at 3:30 PM, also through a lottery. Check out the official tweet for the panel announcement below.

On Saturday, July 20, a Westworld panel will take place in Hall H at 1:15 PM. Fans will be able to get a glimpse of the third season, which will premiere sometime in early 2020. Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, Aaron Paul, Tessa Thompson, Evan Rachel Wood, and Jeffrey Wright will be in attendance. Creators and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will also be on hand to discuss the new season.

As for HBO’s Watchmen, the network advises fans to keep a close eye around the Gaslamp Quarter. There’s going to be an “in-world opportunity” to explore the show. This could mean either street teams or some kind of AR event, but specifics have yet to be announced.
