Anthony Michael Hall To Guest Star in Riverdale’s Flashback Episode

Weird Science star Anthony Michael Hall has joined the cast of the third season of The CW‘s Riverdale for a guest-starring role. Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter to share a yearbook page-like poster featuring Hall as Principal Featherhead, the longstanding principal at Riverdale High. Check out it below!

Hall is set to appear in fourth episode of season 3 titled “The Midnight Club”. The episode is inspired by John Hughes’ 1980s classic coming-of-age film The Breakfast Club which starred Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez and Ally Sheedy along with Molly Ringwald and Hall. Ringwald is part of Riverdale since season 1 and she plays the role of Archie’s mother Mary Andrews.

Aguirre-Sacasa has confirmed at the TCA (via Deadline) that The Midnight Club was a long-planned flashback episode with the adults as high school teens.“It’s our take on The Breakfast Club, says the creator. Essentially, all the younger actors will play their parents, read K.J. Apa (Archie) plays the younger version of Archie’s dad Fred (Luke Perry), and Camilla Mendes (Veronica) will play her younger mom Hermione (Marisol Nichols), etc. We learn learn about a really dark secret that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school,”

Join Archie and the gang as they continue to dive into the secrets that loom and keep emerging from the shadows in a town that once seemed like a quiet, ordinary place. The circumstances surrounding Archie’s arrest kick off the drama of season three as the gang tries to #FreeArchie and Hiram Lodge continues to flesh out his plans to control not only Riverdale, but the ever growing SoDale.

KJ Apa stars as Archie Andrews in the series along with Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones and Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom. The series also stars Mark Consuelos, Casey Cott, Skeet Ulrich, Mädchen Amick, Luke Perry and Vanessa Morgan.

Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale hails from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater.

Riverdale Season 3 will premiere on October 10 while The Midnight Club episode is scheduled to air on November 07, 2018 at The CW.
