NYCC: Interviews with the Gotham Cast

The Gotham cast talks about the new season at New York Comic Con

Among the numerous TV series that were presented at the 2015 New York Comic Con was FOX’s Gotham by Warner Bros. Television. Now, in its second season and labeled “Rise of the Villains,” the show is focusing on the origins on some of its famous villains, including The Riddler, The Joker, and Mr. Freeze.

ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype had a chance to talk to the series’ Executive Producer John Stephens, as well as some of Gotham‘s cast, including Ben McKenzie (James Gordon), Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin), Cory Michael Smith (Edward Nygma), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean), and newcomers Michael Chiklis (Captain Nathaniel Barnes), Jessica Lucas (Tabitha Galavan) and James Frain (Theo Galavan).

Chiklis makes his debut in tonight’s fourth episode, “Rise of the Villains: Strike Force.” Captain Barnes is called to duty to create a law-abiding task force, with the help of Gordon. Meanwhile, Penguin gets caught up in a favor for Galavan, and Nygma asks Kringle out on a date.

For Chiklis, it’s his return to Fox Television after appearing on it’s sister network FX last season in “American Horror Story” for its fourth season, “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” as well as making two guest-starring spots in the last two episodes of “Son of Anarchy.” He’s also no stranger to playing roles involving law enforcement having starred as Commissioner Tony Scali on the ABC police drama “The Commish” followed by his Emmy winning role as LAPD Detective Vic Mackey on the FX police drama “The Shield.”
