ComingSoon.net reports that Summit Entertainment has set an August 2, 2013 release date for RED 2. The studio describes the sequel as follows:
The sequel to the action-comedy hit RED, which reunites our team of retired CIA operatives as they use their old-school style to take on a new set of enemies all across Europe.
Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren starred in the first film, based on the cult D.C. Comics graphic novel by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. It was released in October of 2010 and earned $199 million worldwide.
